Welcome to WVU's Chapter of Alpha Epsilon Delta
Mission
Alpha Epsilon Delta is the National Health Preprofessional Honor Society dedicated to the encouragement and recognition of excellence in preprofessional health scholarship, including medicine, dentistry, veterinary, and others. The Society welcomes ALL students engaged in the pursuit of a professional healthcare career. WVU AED offers opportunities for intellectual and professional development, provides a forum for students with common interests, and extends a program of service to benefit the Morgantown community. Alpha Epsilon Delta is affiliated with the American Association for the Advancement of Science and is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies.
News
- I want to announce the collaboration of Alpha Epsilon Delta and other humanitarian student organizations on this campus to take steps to work jointly in community, national, and world-wide service projects. I met with the leaders of other student organizations this evening and I am proud to announce the joint efforts of The Institute of Human Dignity , Engineers without Boarders, Students for the African Medical and Research Foundation (AMREF), and Habitat for Humanity. IHD has brought all of these organizations together to make their presence known on campus and to lay the groundwork for large-scale projects in the coming years.

- If you plan to apply for national membership, please fill out the appropriate form as soon as possible. See the criteria above to determine whether you qualify this year. The cost for national membership is $85, which is due (along with the national membership form) by Friday, February 29th.
- AED Tee Shirts are in! If you ordered a shirt and have not yet received it, please contact Mark Tarakji. Shirts are $10 each.
- WVU's Health Fair will be held at the Student Rec Center on Tuesday, March 4th, from 4:00-7:00 pm. We are in need of a table topic and someone to lead this activity. If you would like to come up with a theme and lead, you will be rewarded with a lot of AED points.
- Marshall Medical School will hold their annual forum at WVU on Monday, March 17th (St. Patrick's Day!) in the Rhododendron Room of the Mountainlair at 7:00 pm.
- Elections for the 2008-2009 AED officers (President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Service Chair, Social Chair, Historian, and Scalpel Reporter) will be held during our meeting on Monday, April 14th.
- The Induction ceremony for those joining AED's national membership will be held on Saturday, April 19th at the Waterfront Place Hotel.
